Professional Water Heater Services in Lubbock

Hot water is not a luxury — it's a daily necessity. When your water heater fails, it disrupts your entire household. Whether you're dealing with a unit that stopped heating, a tank that's leaking onto your garage floor, or a 12-year-old heater that's simply reached the end of its life, Cotton City Plumbing provides expert water heater repair and replacement services throughout Lubbock, TX and the surrounding West Texas area. Lubbock's hard water is one of the most common reasons water heaters fail prematurely. The high mineral content in our local water supply causes sediment to accumulate at the bottom of tank-style heaters over time. This sediment layer forces the burner to work harder, overheats the tank lining, and dramatically shortens the unit's lifespan. If you hear popping, rumbling, or cracking sounds coming from your water heater, that's sediment buildup — and it's a warning sign that failure is coming sooner than you'd expect. Cotton City Plumbing has been serving Lubbock homeowners and businesses with water heater installations, repairs, and replacements for years. As a locally owned, faith-based company, we give you honest advice — we'll tell you when a repair makes sense and when replacement is the smarter investment. We don't upsell you on equipment you don't need, and we don't recommend replacements just to pad a ticket. We believe in installing only the best. That's why we feature the Rheem Professional Series for standard tank replacements and the cutting-edge Navien line for premium high-efficiency and tankless solutions. Both product lines are backed by industry-leading warranties, and we'll help you register your unit after installation to make sure your coverage is fully activated. Not sure whether to repair or replace? Here's a simple rule of thumb: if your water heater is under 8 years old and the repair cost is less than half the cost of a new unit, repair usually makes sense. If it's over 10 years old, has a history of problems, or is showing signs of rust or corrosion, replacement is almost always the better investment. Our licensed plumbers will give you an honest assessment and a clear, upfront price for both options so you can make the right decision for your home and budget. We serve all of Lubbock and surrounding communities including Wolfforth, Shallowater, Idalou, Slaton, and Levelland. Same-day replacement is available for most standard tank units.
