Sometimes the best bathroom upgrade isn't a full remodel - it's swapping out a worn-out toilet for something that actually works well. That's exactly what this job was about. The old unit was done, and the customer was ready for something more comfortable and dependable.

Before we could set the new toilet, we had to get the floor situation sorted out. The old wax seal had seen better days, and the flange needed to be properly prepped before anything new went down. That's the part most people don't think about - a clean, solid base is what makes the whole installation last. We got the flange cleaned up and fitted with a fresh wax ring so the new toilet would seat correctly with no leaks and no wobble.

The replacement we installed is an elongated high-rise model - a noticeable step up from the standard round, lower-profile toilets that were common in older homes. The elongated bowl is just more comfortable for everyday use, and the taller height makes sitting down and standing up a lot easier. It's a small change on paper, but once you've used one, going back feels like a downgrade.

What you end up with is a clean, fully functional setup that fits the space well and is built to hold up for years. No leaks, no rocking, no running water sounds in the middle of the night. Just a reliable fixture doing its job. If your current toilet is aging out, running constantly, or just not cutting it anymore, a replacement is usually more straightforward than people expect.
