Plumber in Caprock, Lubbock, TX

Trusted Plumbing Experts Serving Caprock

The Caprock neighborhood sits in east Lubbock, centered around the Idalou Road corridor and the eastern edge of the city near the Caprock escarpment (ZIP 79403). This is one of Lubbock's historically underserved areas, and the housing stock reflects it — most homes were built in the 1950s, 1960s, and early 1970s, making the plumbing infrastructure here among the oldest Cotton City Plumbing encounters anywhere in the city. Galvanized steel supply lines installed 50 to 70 years ago are now heavily corroded internally, restricting water flow to a fraction of their original capacity and leaching rust and sediment into the water supply. The original cast iron drain lines in these homes are equally aged, and root intrusion from decades-old trees is a chronic problem throughout the neighborhood. East Lubbock's soil composition includes a higher clay content than the west side of town, which amplifies the slab movement that leads to under-slab copper or galvanized supply line failures. Cotton City Plumbing has completed numerous whole-home repiping projects in the Caprock area, replacing aging galvanized systems with modern PEX or copper that restores full water pressure and eliminates rust-colored water. We also provide sewer camera inspection to assess the condition of cast iron drain lines before they fail completely — a service we strongly recommend for any Caprock homeowner who hasn't had their sewer system inspected in the past decade.
