Underground leaks are tricky. They don't announce themselves with a burst pipe or a puddle in plain sight. Instead, they hide - quietly wasting water, slowly saturating the soil, and building up to a much bigger problem over time. By the time most homeowners notice something is off, the damage is already well underway.

We recently got called out to a home in the South Overton neighborhood here in Lubbock for exactly that kind of situation. A copper water line running beneath the home had developed a leak. The pipe itself was corroded and had clearly been struggling for a while - this wasn't a fresh break, it was the kind of slow deterioration that sneaks up on you.

This is where proper slab leak detection and repair really matters. Getting under a house, locating the exact source of the problem, and doing the repair correctly the first time - that's the job. No guessing, no band-aid fixes. We went in, identified the compromised section of copper line, and repaired it the right way.

Underground and under-house water line leaks might seem like a minor inconvenience at first. But left alone, they can erode soil, drive up water bills, and cause foundation issues down the road. Catching them early and fixing them right is always the better move.

If something seems off with your water pressure, your bill is creeping up for no clear reason, or you've got a hunch something isn't right - don't wait on it. These things don't fix themselves.
